About.

Established in 2022

This Open Educational Resource (OER) is a labor of love created by Dr. Renée D. Jordan.  She designed this OER with Latinas, Afro-Latinas, and Black girls and their mothers/guardians in mind. Thanks to the design contributions of women in Tech from their communities, the intention of this tool is to support equitable educational efforts.

Black-Liberation.Tech Goal

The goal of this OER is to inform the instructional design of informal learning opportunities where students and their parents/guardians learn with and about technology.

Instructional Designer & Research Scientist

As an outcome of her dissertation work and product of her company, Jordan Nuance LLC, Dr. Jordan designed Black-Liberation.Tech as an Open Educational Resource to deliver informal learning opportunities. With this OER, she implements after-school programs where Latinas, Afro-Latinas, Black girls and their mothers/guardians learn with and about technology.
